The fact that it is an oil extracted from algae does NOT mean that it contains iodine because we have not taken the whole algae and put it in a capsule (and even so, iodine, except for people with HYPERthyroidism, is essential for multiple bodily functions and people with hypothyroidism should consume it, no more, but what is recommended). Even so, the oil from which our omega 3 is extracted does not contain iodine. We do not put "the whole algae" but it undergoes a process of extraction, purification and concentration that eliminates other micronutrients such as iodine. Also, if it had iodine we would be obliged to put it on the label.

By creating this supplement, we do not intend to replace food, but to cover the basics, that is, 250 mg of EPA plus DHA, so that, regardless of what you eat, you have the minimum to ensure the full function of these essential fatty acids. Afterwards, everything you add to food is welcome. But if we added more, we would be displacing food and therefore I would have to tell you not to eat X foods so as not to exceed the omega 3 and that would stop being healthy because we would be prioritizing supplements over food. Therefore, with the supplement you have the minimum covered and everything that comes after is welcome.

More is not better, better is better. If you want to take more, take it. But to cover and ensure the minimum, these are the doses. Because then there are also tolerance problems because it causes reflux, etc. Isabel could have given more or told you that you have to take two or three capsules a day, but that would really only make the price go up without these being accompanied by an improvement in general health, which is the most important thing. There will always be exceptions, but that is what they are: exceptions.

Although the ideal way to take Vegan Omega 3+ is as a whole capsule, we understand that some people may have difficulty swallowing capsules. In these cases, it is possible to "puncture" the capsule and dilute its contents into a food or drink. Please note that the contents may have a slight lemon aroma, which could influence the taste of the food or drink into which it is diluted. This option ensures that you can still benefit from the Omega-3 fatty acids without the need to swallow the capsule.

It cannot have the IFOS seal because IFOS stands for International FISH OIL Standard. So it would be a bit strange for a vegan supplement extracted from algae to have a seal for something that refers to fish oil. However, we are certified by GOED, which is the only organization dedicated exclusively to ensuring that its members meet the quality standards in the omega-3 fatty acid market.

On the label of our supplements you will see the quantity oftotal oil(small blue fish or microalgae) and, within it, the amount oftotal omega-3.

Example: in theOmega 3 rich in EPA→ 2000 mg of fish oil and 1500 mg of omega-3.

This is because the oil containsother natural lipids(monounsaturated fats and other non-omega-3 fatty acids) that are part of its original profile. In the case of Solutex®, the oil is concentrated so that a high percentage is omega-3, but the remainder is healthy fats that contribute to the product's stability and natural composition.

This is completely normal and occurs with all of our omega-3s.

In addition toEPAandDHA, the oil contains otherminority omega-3snaturally occurring, such as:DPA(docosapentaenoic acid, 22:5 n-3) and other long-chain omega-3 acids:such as fatty acids 24:5 n-3and24:6 n-3.

These fatty acids, although less well-known, also provide benefits and complete the oil's natural profile. Therefore, the total omega-3 content is always slightly higher than the sum of EPA and DHA.

Both algal and fish oils are excellent sources of Omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA), but they come from different sources and each has its own benefits.

Algae is the original source of these Omega-3s, so the vegan supplement directly obtains EPA and DHA without going through the "intermediary" of fish. This makes it a 100% plant-based option, suitable for people who don't consume animal products and with a reduced environmental impact.

Fish oil, on the other hand, naturally concentrates EPA and DHA thanks to the fish's own diet of algae and plankton. Its advantage is that it generally offers higher amounts of these fatty acids, allowing it to be used in situations requiring more concentrated and specific amounts.

In short, both are high-quality omega-3 oils and serve the same purpose: providing EPA and DHA in effective doses. The choice depends on your personal preferences, your diet, and what works best for you.

Safe and risk-free raw materials TSE

Our omega-3s do not contain animal fats or by-products derived from cattle, sheep, goats, or human blood. Only fish and microalgae are used as raw materials. The fish used does not belong to species considered at risk for transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (TSE), according to European legislation (OJEU 2011/C 73/01 and European Pharmacopoeia 5.2.8).

Rigorous control of contaminants and oxidation

Omega-3 oil (both algae and fish) is produced under strict safety limits to control oxidation, complying with the European Pharmacopoeia and EU Regulation 2023/915, ensuring that heavy metals, dioxins, PCBs, 3-MCPD and its esters, glycidyl esters and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) as well as nitrates are below the detection limits.

Pesticide-free

All our oils have been tested for pesticides. The results confirm their complete absence, within the limits established by the European Pharmacopoeia.

Compliance with limits for PCBs and phthalates

PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls), industrially banned compounds that persist in the environment, accumulate in the fat of animals and humans, and can affect the hormonal and immune systems, increasing the risk of certain diseases. Therefore, their control is key in omega-3 fish oils. Thus, our EPA- and DHA-rich fish oils comply with the strictest PCB limits.

Phthalate-free

In the manufacturing process of our omega-3s, phthalates are not used either as a raw material, as an ingredient, or as an auxiliary material to stabilize the product.
